Covering the costs -
Fundraising

Ealing Talking Newspapers does not have any paid staff. The main expenses are the rent of our office and recording studio, the cost of recording and copying equipment, and consumables. We are entirely dependent on the generosity of donors and the energy of our fundraising committee, whose main activity is our annual raffle.

During 2004/5 we were fortunate to have the special support of the Mayor of Ealing, who nominated Ealing Talking Newspapers as one of the four beneficiaries of his charity, for which we were most grateful.

We are also indebted to other donors, including the John Lewis Partnership, the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Greenford, and the Pitshanger Community Association.

Talking Newspaper audio tapes are carried free of charge by the Royal Mail for anyone who is registered as blind or visually impaired, and has close-up vision with spectacles of N12 or less, confirmed by an ophthalmologist, doctor or ophthalmic optician.
